在國內僅有平行輸入貿易商引進的銷售的HONDA Pilot，儘管在外觀上沒有任何改變，不過全新的2005年式新車骨子裡確有不少變化，由於這款車推出之後在北美十分暢銷，北美本田也對於2005年式新車的推出極度重視！
全新的2005年式HONDA Pilot，這輛大型的三排八人座多功能休閒SUV車款，在當地被稱為是大CRV，不過這輛新年式的SUV可沒有大CRV這麼簡單而已，全新的3.5升V6引擎，在導入多項全新科技之後，不僅擁有255hp/5400rpm的超大馬力，峰值扭力也有34.5kgm/4500rpm的表現，並且搭配一具五速自排變速系統，以及全時四輪驅動系統。
這具動力系統最令人驚豔之處，在於它運用了全新的線傳控制系統，而且獨家的可變汽缸管理系統，更可以在減速及其他低引擎負載情況時，使其中三具汽缸暫時終止運轉，以降低燃料的消耗並提升運轉效能，這樣也能讓平日低乘載公路行駛時擁有更為優異的油耗表現，此外五速自排變速系統的四、五檔齒輪比也重新調整以提供更為優異的動力傳輸品質，而且由2005年式開始更將車身動態穩定系統列為標準配備，大幅提昇動態行車時的主動安全表現；原廠亦針對油箱重新設計，使得全新的防爆油箱不僅更安全，也讓油料滿載的續航力至少增加40英哩的行駛距離。
根據北美本田原廠表示，2005年式的全新本田Pilot車系，建議售價介於27350-34120美元之間，此外因為今年北美本田開始導入貨卡Ridgeline投產，所以原本由加拿大安大略省生產的Pilot，將增列美國阿拉巴馬州的生產線，所以未來生產Pilot 的工廠將橫跨美加兩國。
