HONDA Civic（4）-進化：2代Super Civic 1979年-1983年

有了1代成功的案例，加上全球石油危機在美國造成轟動，HONDA早在1977年便開始規劃後繼車型，延續經濟好開的原則，乘坐空間提升的2代車型終於在工程師的努力下，於1979年問世。
2代Civic在1979年9月推出，HONDA取名為Super Civic。在車型上有3門、5門掀背車以及旅行車。Super Civic在外型最明顯的改變就是尺寸的增加，為的就是彌補一代車款在內部空間上的不足。另外在變速箱方面，Super Civic在手排設定方面也全數改為5速設定，相較於1代的4速變速箱，追加的超比檔能夠保有更佳的油耗表現；另外在自動變速箱方面，則是全車系3速自排的設計。
另外一個值得一提的事件，就是當時HONDA將2代Civic的4門房車Ballade車型授權給英國Rover集團製造，當時ROVER是以Triumph Acclaim來包裝2代Civic，也開始了HONDA在英國製造的淵源。2代Super Civic到1982年年底時已經製造的300萬輛。
