今年七月27日HONDA Taiwan召開記者會，正式宣佈HONDA在台灣的第三輛國產車型確定為全新一代的Civic，至此對於台灣導入車型的各式傳言、揣測不斷，而根據最新的消息指出，台灣國產的Civic基本上還是將延續美規系統，採用已經在美國上市的四門Civic為基礎，導入國內生產。
日前，AutoNet曾於第一時間取得確切消息並指出，國產Civic將以日規版作為藍本，進行修正後再導入國內銷售，不過依據HONDA全球市場行銷區域的劃分，台灣屬於大洋洲與亞洲部份，基本上還是以美規系統為主。因此經過確認後，國產Civic還是採美規車型為藍本的可能性較高。外觀方面，基本上將與預計於兩個月後在泰國上市的Civic車型相當，屆時將更加確定台灣可能生產的版本。
不過依照前例，HONDA Taiwan在宣佈Civic為第三輛國產車型前，無論是外界猜測或是可靠消息都是指出Fit將於今年上市，但最終的決策讓外界的期待與報導都為之震驚。所以，台灣版本的Civic究竟會以日規或是美規為藍本，恐怕還是得到HONDA Taiwan正式對外宣佈，或是明年發表的哪一天才能完全確定了。
