HONDA Insight Hybrid停產，後繼車款將以Prius為對手

HONDA發言人David Iida表示，美規Insight Hybrid將在九月停產，銷售不佳是造成停產的原因。
其實，HONDA Insight Hybrid四月在日本就已停產；從1999年開賣的Insight Hybrid至今年三月在日本的總銷售量為2254輛，而美國從1999年至今年三月的銷售量則有13374輛，以兩個國家的市場規模相較，會發現Insight Hybrid在美國有較多的需求量，所以這可能是Insight hybrid在兩個市場不同停產期限的原因。
Insight Hybrid的IMA系統才剛連續第七年獲得國際引擎大獎，也獲得不少省油大獎，但是HONDA Insight Hybrid是兩個座位，便利性不佳，但價格又過高，Insight Hybrid的價格為19330美元，但Civic Hybrid為22400美元；TOYOTA Prius只比Insight Hybrid晚一年在美國上市，但銷售卻出奇的好，去年整年Insight Hybrid在美國只銷售666輛，TOYOTA Prius則賣出107,891輛。
HONDA將推出Insight Hybrid後繼車，主要將改成四個座位，而此次推出後繼車，勢必將炮火瞄準對手TOYOTA Prius。
