HONDA第八代Civic日本銷售不如從前，市場太競爭啦！

因為第一次石油危機，順勢讓日本HONDA嘗到勝利的滋味，小小的Civic竟然能進入美國市場，並在全球各地熱賣，然而30多年的歲月，第八代Civic於日本平均每月銷售只有1千多輛，這到底發生什麼事。

1972年HONDA推出第一代Civic之初，並沒有造成太大迴響，直到1975年改搭載CVCC引擎後，因為增加負燃燒室得以創造稀薄燃燒效果，達到省油的經濟效應，因此當發生全球性的能源危機時，Civic等於是消費者的救世主，尤其是賴以進口石油為生的日本，更掀起一陣Civic狂熱，在1975年12月還創下月銷售23480輛的驚人記錄。

而稱為Sport Civic的第五代車型，更是90年代初期的驚人之作，單1991年上市就寫下年銷售171273輛紀錄，比第一代的160149輛還多，雖然這時競爭對手倍出，但單月最高曾銷售21632輛。

不過被寄予厚望的第八代車型，從2005年九月於日本正式發表以來，正巧碰上RV風流行，再加上輕型車的衝擊與高油價時代，即使同時擁有強調節能的Hybrid車型，但銷售並不如預期，最高點在2006年三月，全車係僅出售2308輛，2006年1-5月總計只有6487輛，這也讓HONDA進行一連串的檢討，是否世界戰略車在日本吃不開呢？

其實以第八代Civic在日本銷售不彰的情況來看，最大影響莫過於新消費族群對汽車的要求有差異，年輕人不再喜歡傳統四門房車，而是具備空間利用的RV，再者年輕消費者沒有多餘的預算購車也是一大問題，當然同級對手陸續推陳出新，導致以技術起家的HONDA難以接招，所以第八代Civic才會陷入苦戰中。
