過去的HONDA Civic，等同於台灣國民車，耐用有型又兼具高科技，等於是四、五年級生的夢中車；如今這群人已經邁入不惑之年，第八代Civic是否能再度擄獲他們的心，或者還要另尋第二春？
而第八代HONDA Civic更注入了革新的概念和先進的技術，在駕馭、設計、安全等各方面的提升，不僅再次的引領潮流，更朝著全新的里程大步邁進。第八代Civic為了滿足消費者的期待，因此打破了傳統CIVIC國民車、大眾車的印象，在商品上朝更高一級的方向設計，兼顧了實用與華麗，全面創造更先進、更有造型與更實用的全新車款，以滿足新世代消費者的期待與需求。
在空間上，2700mm的超長軸距，創造了前所未有的中型房車空間，後座底板延續前一代的果嶺式設計，提供完全平整的足部空間，讓後座中間位置的乘客，在也不用因足部空間不足而感到不舒適。此外，Civic採用了獨特的高視認性太空艙儀表，以雙層的設計，將時速表、油量與水溫等較重要之資訊，設計於上層，而其餘的如：轉速表、行車里程以及各警示燈號至於下層的儀表中，讓駕駛者於車輛行駛中，不再因繁雜的儀表板，影響資訊的辨識，且原廠特將儀表板底部以藍色為基調，配上白色字體，增加了辨識度。
在動力系統，此次主打的1.8升車型，搭載全新設計開發的1.8升 i-VTEC引擎，創造了140hp的馬力，在油耗上，更以平均15.5公里/公升與高速20.71公里/公升的成績，創造了優異的表現。總代理更打出大型房車的空間、2.0升級距的馬力與1.5升級距的油耗，超越了1.8L級距的表現。至於2.0升車型，則搭載2.0升i-VTEC引擎，最大馬力為155hp，最大扭力則為19.2kgm，油耗部分，平均每公升為14.4公里。
在主動安全方面， Civic配備EBD電子煞車力道分配系統的ABS防鎖定煞車系統，以及緊急煞車時能有效確保最佳煞車力的BA煞車踏力輔助系統，另外HID氣體放電式頭燈(2.0S/1.8EX-S)可有效提升夜間行車之照明。在被動安全上，採用了ACE籠型鋼骨結構車體，藉由車頭、底盤、座艙、車門與前後保險桿內部交錯的ACE複合鋼骨結構，有效吸收撞擊時的衝擊力，維持完整的生存空間，有效保護車內的乘員。而Civic更在美國IIHS的撞擊測中，獲得最優異金質獎，大幅的提升行車安全性。
第八代Civic雖然有不少話題，但售價上不低，基本款從64.9萬元起跳，頂級將近80萬元為79.9萬元，如果與同級對手相較確實高出許多，也難怪推出後的銷售成績並不如預期，當然國內金融卡債影響買氣更是一大問題，另外過去的HONDA死忠派如今都已經成家立業，除非很鍾情於獨特的設計，否則實用與價格將會是一大考量。
