2005年在日本曾訪問過HONDA社長福井威夫，雖然他的座駕為頂級旗艦Legend，但他本人最愛的還是SUV與Minivan，而才剛發表的新CR-V，更成為他日常生活的用車首選。

熱愛賽車運動與大自然活動的福井威夫，接任HONDA社長時間並不長，但正是在他的領導下，HONDA不僅成功拿下久違的F1冠軍，更成功地將事業版圖推向航空界，同時還規劃ACURA世界戰略的新佈局，當然新時代的設計概念也在他手中開始。

雖然HONDA旗下有著超級跑車NSX（已停產）或者性能頂級房車Legend，但歷經於「My Car」時代的福井威夫，仍然喜歡自己開車，對他來說Legend是公務車，真正能體驗樂趣與舒適的還是CR-V，所以他決定將新CR-V納入車庫，變成日常生活的代步交通工具，至於Legend…請司機開吧！

再者，根據HONDA研發人員私下透露，當福井威夫首度看到新CR-V量產版時，眼睛都亮了起來，看到他那充滿愉悅的眼神，就知道這種新設計理念得到他的認同，如果他認同….就表示市場也認同。

至於接下來新CR-V能否有一番作為，就看後續表現了！
