紐約車展新車-打破停產謠言，HONDA S2000 CR Prototype亮相

S2000停產的消息一度喧囂塵上，HONDA為了打破這個流言，不僅在紐約車展中公開了2008年式的S2000，甚至還將即將增加的S2000 CR Prototype展現在眾人眼前。
預計今年第三季於北美市場開始銷售的S2000 CR，美國HONDA先於紐約車展中推出Prototype，整體上是以S2000為基礎，膽在強化空力套件、輕量化後，更是殺氣騰騰。打從1999年問世以來，S2000在全球40多國共計銷售10萬輛以上，最主要是罕見的後輪驅動與敞篷車型的配置，搭配直四2.2升優異的動力系統和操控性，讓HONDA得以站穩性能車領域的泰斗地位。
S2000 CR在外觀上的最大特徵，在於大型的擾流尾翼與座椅後方的整流罩，其中座椅後方的整流罩將防滾架置入其中，除了更符合流體力學外，安全性也大幅提升；且原廠為了讓S2000獲得更佳的駕馭樂趣，也在車體剛性作細部強化，懸吊避震系統也重新調校，並減輕車身重量達40公斤左右，所以和一般S2000相較，S2000 CR Prototype可是更為輕盈。
當然電動收納軟蓬與鋁合金可拆式車頂，則都是S2000 CR Prototype的標準配置。不過S2000 CR Prototype是專為北美市場所開發的全新車款，至於其他國家可能就無緣了。
