    長年夢想即將實現,HONDA下一代Legend搭載V8引擎

對於HONDA來說,目前引擎汽缸數最大的為V6,而市售V8車款一直是HONDA的夢想,如今這個願望可能會在2009年實現,因為第一輛搭載V8引擎的房車即將誕生,且還是FR的配置。

屬於HONDA旗艦的Legend,一直以來便以FF前置引擎前輪驅動和V6引擎,和不少FR前置引擎後輪驅動的V8對手相抗衡,然而卻也因空間問題陷入苦戰,所以在2004年便推出搭載4WD系統應戰,縱使如此動力上卻仍略遜一籌,因此早在現行Legend開發之前就有傳聞HONDA將推出V8心臟一事,甚至連下一代NSX也將改採V8引擎,然而實際上量產Legend卻依然為V6引擎,這可讓不少消費者失望。

不過在技術更精近的情況下,HONDA確定要開發全新V8引擎,並搭載於2009年問世的新一代Legand上。據AutoNet的獨家訊息,新一代Legend乃架構在FR的底盤基礎上,並導入HONDA最引以為傲的SH-AWD驅動技術,全長約達5000mm,軸距長達3000mm,且這具V8引擎的排氣量可能接近5.0升,估計最大馬力輸出值超過400hp。

然而隨著2008年HONDA高級品牌ACURA的世界戰略啟動,未來新Legend將改以ACURA RL之名在各地販售,且售價恐怕會從現在的日幣525萬圓(新台幣190萬元)升級到650-800萬圓(新台幣230-290萬元)左右,不知這樣的身價搭配品牌消費者能否買單?但不論如何,至少V8引擎的誕生可算圓了HONDA在發動機領域的夢。
