被老美視為正統賽車的Indy 500，可是比F1還經典的活動，每年總有許多民眾全力投入，甚至到邁阿密的Daytona朝聖一番，而HONDA Accord Coupe更在上萬觀眾面前擔任前導車，這可是最好的宣傳手法。

2007年度當HONDA Accord Hybrid首度擔任Indy 500前導車時，在賽車界與車壇可是引起一陣話題，因為這是第一次賽車與環保節能劃上等號的先例，如今持續擔綱前導車任務，HONDA派出2008年式年Accord Coupe肩負重責大任，成為今年度Indy 500的前導車。

外觀採用紅白藍三色塗裝的HONDA Accord Coupe，乃去年度公開徵求民眾設計所得來的成果。為了能以高速引導所有賽車行進，Accord Coupe Safety Car搭載V6 3.5升自然進氣引擎，並在懸吊系統進行強化，同時裝上BBS輪圈、SPARCO的防滾籠，以達到安全性和操控性。今年度HONDA總計贊助四輛前導車，包含兩輛Accord Coupe和兩輛Accord四門房車，雖然花費不算高，卻也能在每場賽事中得以亮相，宣傳效果遠比砸大錢下廣告來得划算。此外，今年除了Accord Coupe外，還有一款採用E85生質燃料的CHEVROLET Corvette也在Indy 500中大顯身手。

不僅美國出現Accord Coupe前導車，預計在4月19日於日本茂木雙環賽車場所舉辦的「Indy Japan」，Accord Coupe也將以同樣塗裝相同身份在日本亮相。
