2004年10月登場的HONDA旗艦Legend，雖然配置不少先進技術，但排氣量上依然比不上大型房車格局，因此根據AutoNet所獲得的獨家消息，下一代Legend將搭載全新開發的V8 4.5升引擎，最大馬力上看400hp！

在日本平均每月銷售不到200輛的Legend，擁有同級車首創的SH-AWD四輪驅動系統，且車身尺碼也達4930×1845×1455mm，軸距也有2800mm表現，無論氣派度或舒適度都算上乘，但動力上卻比起NISSAN Fuga 450GT（INFINITI 45）、LEXUS GS450差了一截，為了增加競爭力，並與對手一較高下，原廠決定在2009年12月推出全新大改款車型，除了擁有將近5公尺的長度外，動力心臟換成V8 4.5升引擎，另外也跌破眾人眼鏡將以FR前置引擎後輪驅動為基礎，搭配引以為傲的SH-AWD系統。

根據瞭解新一代Legend的引擎為V8 4.5升，也就是HONDA傾全力開發的動力心臟，此心臟主體將和NSX共用，預估最大可發揮380-400hp馬力，扭力更高達50.0kgm，由於引擎採用縱置設計，故新一代Legend可是FR的超級性能房車，在SH-AWD系統的加持下，更能提供絕佳的操控表現。至於外觀造型則依然走HONDA既有的個性化路線，以和原廠品牌形象相契合。

當然HONDA新一代Legend在北美地區仍以ACURA RL販售，預估大改款後目標直擊BMW M5，至於成果如何就看正式上市後的表現。
