最近除了許多關廠裁員的消息外，也開始出現全球各大車廠為了最佳的成本績效，調整旗下車款生產據點的計畫，當然最終的目標，就是要讓目前位於全球各大生產據點擁有最佳的效益，可以降低在各目標市場的經營成本與績效！
根據最新外電消息指出，剛剛在泰國境內投產的全新2009年式中型三廂四門房車HONDA City，也在不久前閉幕的2008廣州國際車展宣布將在當地投產中國版「鋒範」新車外，HONDA日本原廠正式宣佈，原本位於土耳其歐規City產地將予以取消，全新大改款City房車的生產線將移到東南亞的馬來西亞境內。
日本原廠表示，歐規版本的全新大改款2009年式 HONDACity新車，預計將率先於明年二月於波蘭市場發售，目前原廠已經針對位於馬來西亞境內的歐規版本生產線進行準備工作，最快馬來西亞廠生產的新車，將在12月中率先於當地市場發售，亞洲與歐洲規格的新車將同步投產。
在明年二月份於波蘭汽車市場發表全新2009年式馬來西亞製造的大改款 City房車的同時，也將於當地同步發售由本田中國位於廣州的整車廠投產的2009年式HONDA Jazz掀背新車。
