可說是HONDA賽車精神實踐的FR敞篷跑車－S2000，隨著HONDA已正式宣布退出F1賽事與相關活動，先前由官方確認2009年六月停產的消息，但是因為訂單不斷湧現，S2000因而能夠持續量產至今，才正式停產。
S2000為強化其性能表現，在推出歷代小改款車型之際，亦陸續導入VGS可變齒比轉向系統（Variable Gear ratio Steering）、改變輪圈尺碼、增加引擎排氣量等作為，讓S2000始終維持迷人HONDA敞篷跑車形象。
根據統計，1999年至今，短短的九年期間，S2000光在日本便已累計銷售超過2.0萬輛，全球更累積銷售超過11萬輛。S2000以其所搭載的高性能四缸自然進氣引擎、車身前後50：50完美配重、FR前置引擎後輪驅動等配置，提供高度駕駛樂趣與享受的至高表現，更曾經以HONDA F1賽車為背景，替S2000打造極具傲氣的電視廣告。
