燃燒吧青春！HONDA太陽能電池裝在日本甲子園球場

1995年發生芮氏規模七的阪神大地震，使得日本高中棒球最熱血也最青春的甲子園棒球場發生龜裂，然而泡沫經濟讓整修工程一拖再拖，爾後在不少企業熱情贊助下終於得以嶄新面貌於2010年出現，且位於內野看台上的屋頂將配置許多太陽能電池，而這些太陽能電池全出自HONDA之手。
隸屬於HONDA旗下專事太陽能電池製造生產與銷售的HONDA Soltec，將隨著甲子園重新整修把薄膜型太陽能電池裝在內野看台屋頂上（內野看台屋頂被稱為銀傘），預計2010年3月完工，推估年發電量達19.3萬kWh，並可減少CO2約133公噸。
由HONDA所獨自開發的薄膜型太陽能電池，是採用銅、銦、硒化、鎵CIGS(copper indium gallium selenide)等化合物與材質構成薄膜，在製造過程中能有效降低污染，對於太陽能電池普及化及環保有莫大幫助。
正因為環保意識高漲，薄膜型太陽能電池在日本需求量越來越高，HONDA Soltec 在2007年開始便運用在住宅上，並在2008年開始販售如阪神甲子園棒球場等公共和產業用太陽能電池，所以日後若到日本甲子園看棒球，或者看到相關比賽轉播，不妨注意一下位於內野看台上那些閃亮亮的屋頂，那可是HONDA在太陽能電池領域的結晶！
