對HONDA旗下車款來說，掛上「R」字總是給人很多想像空間。

還記得今年SEMA改裝車展中，HONDA及眾家改裝廠一同推出超過10款的CR-Z改裝作品嗎？相隔不到一個月，其中一輛由HPD（HONDA Performance Development）打造的CR-Z Hybrid R再度現身於洛杉磯車展中，讓人不禁懷疑起這是不是HONDA在暗示著CR-Z Type-R即將推出？

接連在SEMA改裝車展及洛杉磯車展現身，Hybrid R概念車真的是CR-Z Type-R的概念設計？

CR-Z Hybrid R是以道路版賽車為目標而打造，火紅車色、大尺碼圈胎加上全車空力套件顯得帥勁十足，底盤設定也有相當程度的強化，至於在動力部分則藉由渦輪增壓及油電控制單元的升級，使最大輸出由原廠的122hp/17.0kgm，一口氣提升至200hp/24.2kgm的水準。
如果真的依照CR-Z Hybrid R的規格推出量產車型，以其造型與動力表現而言，要掛上Type-R名義應該是當之無愧，只是對於HONDA基本教義派而言，向來代表著HONDA純正賽車血統的Type-R車款居然不是令人熱血澎湃的高轉速引擎，而是採用訴求環保的油電複合動力系統，會不會大嘆本田精神已死？

內外各項設計都相當成熟，直接推出量產版本也不意外。
