AutoNet汽車日報去年曾報導過，在Road to Zero Emissions的品牌目標之下，HONDA於2010洛杉磯車展中，發表了在替代能源領域的最新作品－Fit EV Concept，也是發展繼Hybrid油電動力系統之後的新嘗試。不過日前HONDA原廠也正式發布，將於2011日內瓦車展中，發表一款全新EV概念電動車，同時也將展出最新一代的Plug-in Hybrid電動車(PHEV)平台。

HONDA此次將推出的全新EV概念電動車，以都會通勤使用為主要訴求，車內採5人座配置，在動力配置方面與Fit EV Concept相同，於驅動馬達部分來自同廠燃料電池車FCX Clarity，續航力約為160km，加上源自CR-Z上的「3 Mode E Drive」系統，共有「ECON」、「NORMAL」、「SPORT」三種模式，在「ECON」模式下比「NORMAL」模式增加17％續航力，比起「SPORT」模式更提升了25％，整體表現方面頗為理想。
此外，HONDA也將同時展出最新的中型Plug-in Hybrid電動車平台，以最新的two-motor hybrid系統為基礎，採用一具2.0L i-VTEC直四汽油引擎與兩具可輸出約160hp最大馬力的電動馬達相結合，電力來源為6kWh鋰離子電池模組，搭配CVT無段自動變速箱，擁有純電動、油電混合驅動與純引擎驅動三種模式，其中純電動模式極速可達100km/h、同時有著16至24km的續航力，以120V電壓充電需2至2.5小時、以240V電壓充電則僅需1至1.5小時即可充滿電力。而此具Plug-in Hybrid電動車平台預計將由新一代Accord率先搭載，並陸續導入下一代CR-V等其他車款。
事實上，HONDA的電動車計畫早已於2010年中即開始於日本熊本縣開始進行新一代電動載具的測試計畫，包括電動汽車、Plug-in Hybrid電動車、電動機車與電動小型個人載具與太陽能充電站等，試圖達到完全安靜無聲、零污染、零排放的環保交通世界。
