2011東京車展報導：綠化地球的夢想科技，HONDA推出〝Earth Dream〞柴油引擎

第42屆東京車展將於本週六（12月3日）開幕，HONDA除了將展示EV-STER電動概念車及旗下多輛車款，總裁兼執行長伊東孝紳近日也宣佈了一項名為「Earth Dreams Technology」的新世科技計畫，將透過動力、變速、傳動等系統的調校提升引擎的高效動能，預計將於3年內讓HONDA旗下各級距車款均達到最佳燃油經濟性的目標，同時也據此技術，針對歐洲市場推出一款兼具卓越性能與優異環保效益的1.6L缸內直噴直列四缸DOHC柴油引擎。
這具排氣量為1596c.c、由HONDA全新開發的DOHC直列四缸柴油引擎，運用了缸內直噴技術以提高燃油效率，除了將可輸出120hp/4000rpm的最大馬力及30.6kgm/2000rpm的峰值扭力，並能擁有100g/km的二氧化碳排放量，重量也較同級引擎更輕，可說是一具擁有不俗性能的低排放引擎。伊東孝紳進一步表示，此具引擎預計在2012年底開始生產，首先將搭載於歐規九代Civic之上，屆時Civic原有的2.2L i-DTEC柴油渦輪引擎將逐漸遭到取代，換上這具象徵〝地球夢想〞的全新引擎。
據了解，除了現有的1.6L引擎，未來HONDA也將依據Earth Dreams Technology調校出660c.c、1.3L、1.5L、1.8L、2.0L、2.4L及3.5L引擎，應用於HONDA旗下所有車款；透過「Earth Dreams Technology」計畫，HONDA目標在2020年之前將旗下車款的二氧化碳排放量較2000年降低30%，不僅保有駕馭樂趣，也更提升環保節能效益。
