HONDA〝一體成形〞的設計，N box迷你跨界小車首度亮相

現今製造汽車已經是採用機械機器來完成生產製作，使用越來越先進的材料素材，打造車體結構；在過去的數十年當中，大部分的汽車製造商仍然是使用鋼鐵為材質與螺栓結合製成車體架構，因自從1920年以來，採用這種製造方式，是最容易、簡單的，並且能夠快速大量生產，藉此從短時間內獲取收益。
而HONDA近年來不斷的尋找新的替代材料，來取代傳統的車體結構設計方式，並且開始建構小型車市場在日本與海外工廠的生產線。HONDA首先推出一款迷你crossover車型稱為N box，針對其車體部分重新改造其設計方式，將以往在打造車體框架時，會有許多焊接點，相對的越多焊接點其製造成本也會增加，且經過撞擊測試後顯示其安全性也會降低，而經過改造過的N box不僅大大的減少生產成本，也降低了10％的整體車重。
路透社（Reuters）指出，節省車輛的製造成本與車體重量也同時使得HONDA在新興市場上更具競爭力，且在現今全球都在推行節能減碳、降低油耗等口號，HONDA的這項設計技術因為減少車體重量，因此將有助於降低油耗，在全球市場可說是佔有一襲重要之地。未來HONDA還會將這項設計套用至其它車款上，打造〝一體成形〞的車體框架設計，呈現技術工藝的進化與美感，在車壇史上增添一筆創新設計。
