    HONDA Legend日本停產,下一代全部美國製造!

身為HONDA當家旗艦的Legend,在1985年率先掛上ACURA廠徽在北美開賣,不僅成為日本高級車的標竿,爾後更以ACURA RL奠定HONDA在北美市場的基礎,然而現行第四代卻因對手競爭力強加上受日幣匯率影響價格攀升失去競爭力,在日本市場則因新世代消費者無法認同Legend轉而選擇歐系同級車,使得Legend在銷售上面臨空前危機,為了降低風險並提高在地化生產比例,HONDA決定停產Legend,而下一代全新車則移往美國生產,以符合當地市場需求。

2004年10月問世的第四代Legend,配置SH-AWD驅動系統,且為了提升戰力餘2008年將3.7L心臟增加馬力至309hp,甚至2010年也換上HONDA首度採用的六速自排變速箱,但卻也喚不回日本消費者的心,2011年每月平均銷售量僅36輛,成績比2010年減少3.2﹪,美國市場的ACURA RL狀況也不盡理想,主要是對手輩出且民眾追求節能目的,只有一具3.7L大排氣量引擎的RL處於劣勢,原本HONDA計畫在2008年推出第五代Legend,卻不幸碰上雷曼兄弟所造成的金融海嘯,導致整個開發計畫凍結。

根據了解HONDA之所以要將Legend移師美國生產,主要是希望能藉由在地化生產來貼近消費者,同時在2011年311東日本強震與泰國洪災嚴重損失,更讓HONDA決定要分散風險。此外在HONDA的世界戰略規劃下,生產效率提升也是重點,所以接下來日本僅負責小型車與輕型車的生產範疇,其餘則將移往北美、中國、印度和歐洲生產。

所以2013年即將量產的第五代Legend將在美國俄亥俄廠生產,並從美國外銷到中國、中東、俄羅斯、歐洲甚至日本等市場,因此可大膽假設,由於Legend和ACURA RL屬於雙生車,或許這是HONDA要擴大ACURA至其他市場的策略也說不定。
