以智慧型手機操作，HONDA個人移動工具UNI-CUB誕生

位於日本東京江東區台場附近的日本科學未來館，是當地科學教育的聖地，如今這裡又多了兩名貴客，那就是HONDA新一代的個人移動工具UNI-CUB，經過三年的改良，如今已經可藉由智慧型手機操作。

早在2009年東京車展時，HONDA便推出宛如有輪子板凳的個人交通工具U3-X，其實與Segway大同小異，都是利用陀螺儀技術保持平衡，身體傾斜角度和重心則控制速度與方向，不過U3-X在當時僅只適概念作品，離量產還有一段時間，經過三年的努力，HONDA終於成功開發出進化版本UNI-CUB，並率先運用在日本科學未來館，從今年6月起到2013年3月進行為期9個月的測試。
擁有520×825×745mm尺碼的UNI-CUB，搭載HONDA獨自開發的平衡控制技術（來自ASIMO）與全方位驅動車輪結構（HONDA Omni Traction Drive System），採用鋰離電池為動力源，充飽電後續航力為6km，極速6km/h略比人步行速度高些，但可藉由身體重心調整成等速，另外最大爬坡角度為5度。此外隨著智慧型手機的普及，HONDA也對此進行功能整合，乘坐者可一手拿著利用智慧型手機操作UNI-CUB。
根據日本科學未來館館長、同時也是日本前太空人毛利衛表示，既然已經和智慧手機結合，那麼未來將有可能和GPS衛星導航整合，在特定時間內成為科學未來館解說員的交通工具！所以六月到日本東京觀光的民眾，若想一睹UNI-CUB的真面目，不妨去趟日本科學未來館吧！
