新節能選項，英國HONDA Civic 1.6L柴油渦輪動力引擎英國開賣

2012年巴黎車展上，HONDA對外宣佈將歐洲市場上的Civic房車新增一具1.6L柴油渦輪引擎選項，而此引擎的特色在於導入HONDA新一代動力技術「EARTH DREAMS TECHNOLOGY」，提升燃油效率之餘更能減少廢氣排放。在眾多消費者的期盼下Civic的新動力單元終於在日前於英國地區開賣。

搭載1.6L柴油渦輪動力的歐規Civic售價為19,400英鎊（約新台幣90.3萬元）起，頂級車型EX為23,175（約新台幣107.8萬元）英鎊。雖然Civic原本在歐洲就有2.2L柴油渦輪引擎的動力選項，但是從20,300英鎊的起跳價格，對於目前的歐洲汽車市場來說還是卻乏一個有力的購買誘因。因此HONDA於巴黎車展發表新動力消息之後，就立即將這新柴油引擎推上市場，期盼此具引擎能為Civic帶來更好的銷售成績。

而這具由HONDA全新開發的1.6L直列式四缸柴油渦輪引擎排氣量為1596c.c，大幅輕量化成效使這具引擎的重量比起同級對手還輕上許多，並導入嶄新的缸內直噴技術來提升燃油效率，可提供最大馬力118hp/4000rpm與30.6kgm/2000rpm的扭力峰值，且二氧化碳排放量也僅有94g/km。

動力傳輸方面則是搭配6速手排變速系統，經過實際測試歐規Civic搭載1.6L柴油渦輪引擎後擁有33.2km/L的平均油耗表現。相較於原本2.2L柴油渦輪引擎選項，不僅油耗多出4.8km/L的行駛距離，二氧化碳的排放量更能獲得當地減免稅金的優惠方案。最後，這具1.6L柴油渦輪引擎搭載於歐規Civic開賣後，2013年起也會配置於新一代CR-V上來販售。
