不久前AutoNet汽車日報才為讀者介紹過，自從歐規版本的九代Civic於2011年法蘭克福車展中亮相以來，在HONDA的運作之下、歐規Civic參與各項賽事也相當積極，如今在WTCC世界房車錦標賽2013年賽季開幕戰義大利Monza分站中也傳出捷報。

在這場在雨進行的開幕戰第二回合賽事當中，義大利車手Gabriele Tarquini所駕駛的3號賽車由第五位起跑，憑藉著賽場上老到的經驗，於第一圈的首個髮夾彎就向前進佔至第二位，而自第13位起跑的葡萄牙車手Tiago Monteiro則是再守圈結束後前進四個名次至第9位，並於之後兩圈賽事中再前進至第8的位置，展現出九代歐規Civic廠車不錯的戰力。

不過在第6圈時由於賽道溼滑，加上後方車手、駕駛著CHEVROLET Cruze賽車（Nika Racing私人車隊）的Michael Nykjaer強攻之下，讓Gabriele Tarquini被迫讓出第二的位置，最終也以季軍的成績完成賽事，另一方面Tiago Monteiro則是穩紮穩打的以第8名完賽。

在開幕戰兩回合賽事結束之後，Gabriele Tarquini以28分積分暫居車手排行榜第3的位置，而Tiago Monteiro則是以14分積分位居第6；在廠隊排行榜方面，Castrol HONDA World Touring Car Team則是以94分積分領先。接下來第二個分站賽事則將於4月6、7日於摩洛哥Moulay El Hassan賽道進行，HONDA WTCC車隊是否能夠再寫佳績，自然也是車迷所注目的焦點。
