    日本名車系列(275):HONDA Life(1971-1974)

1971年誕生的Life,可算是HONDA繼N360後的新作,也是N360的真正傳人,在車身尺碼相似的情況下,將原本的空冷引擎變成水冷設計,同時衍生出掀背、單廂貨車、小型貨卡等多種形態。

以2995×1295×1340mm尺碼和2080mm軸距,以及4.4m最小迴轉半徑成功打入日本乘用車市場的Life,仍舊採雙門掀背設計,同時因為需求也推出商用版本,1972年更追加單廂貨車與小貨卡兩種形態,成為當時同底盤多樣化的先驅。內裝可容納四名乘員,簡單化的儀表和配備判讀就手都強調便利性。

動力上是以N360的354cc直列雙缸SOHC空冷引擎為基礎,將排氣量增加至356cc,並以效能更好的水冷系統取代,壓縮比也由9.0:1降至8.8:1,在相同的2.9kgm/6000rpm扭力下,共調校出30hp/8000rpm、21hp/6500rpm兩種馬力輸出,並提供方向機柱式四速手排與兩速自排兩種選擇;由於車重約在510-530kg之間,輕巧身軀和動力結合下可創造出100-105km/h的極速表現。

底盤採用簡單的前麥弗遜、後葉片彈簧的懸吊結構,維修與載重都具有相當程度的便利性,由於操控並非Life的強項,因此定位上屬於都會短途的移動工具。因1972年Civic獲得空前成功,Life對HONDA而言的重要性相對減少,因此於1974年停產後,直到1998年才推出第二代車型,並在日本輕型車市場獲得舉足輕重的地位。
