新興市場戰略車，全新第四代HONDA City印度發表

HONDA於東南亞市場相當重要的戰略車款City，自1996年首代車型推出以來已經累積銷售達220萬輛，而臺灣地區在那時候也曾導入國產販售，不過隨著市場小型房車的需求減弱，讓City於2002年退出臺灣市場。不過現在正逢小車當道的時代，所以2013年初時也傳出HONDA Taiwan評估未來新世代City國產化的可能，既然如此就來看看剛於印度發表的全新第四代City。
數日前日本發表的第三代Fit，在當時就已確認此具底盤平台將還會衍生出兩款新車型，一輛為2013年東京車展發表的跨界小休旅Vezel，另外一輛就是第四代City。也因為底盤共用的優勢讓全新City的車身尺碼來到4440×1695×1495mm軸距2600mm，相較於現行第三代車型，還車身長了25mm、高25mm、軸距增加50mm，這規格也正對上第三代TOYOTA Vios。
在外觀設計方面第四代City頭燈的樣貌與第九代Civic看齊，並以碩大的鍍鉻水箱護照來彰顯科技氛圍。車側的折線也比上代車型還要豐富許多，除了有前葉子版的輪拱弧線外，從前車門起亦有道鮮明的肩線延伸至車尾。車尾部份則維持以往飽滿的造型設計，不過在車身尺碼增長的幫助下讓後行李箱空間順勢來到510L（原為506L）的容量。
動力方面第四代City也突破以往的規格，在印度市場推出1.5L i-VTEC直列四缸汽油引擎，以及1.5L i-DTEC直列四缸渦輪增壓引擎兩種。汽油引擎有120hp最大馬力、14.7kgm峰值扭力。至於這具嶄新的1.5L i-DTEC柴油渦輪引擎則可輸出100hp最大馬力與20.4kgm的峰值扭力輸出。發表會現場原廠也表示，此具柴油渦輪引擎為歐規Civic搭載的1.6L i-DTEC演化而來。
內裝設計上亦有第九代Civic的味道，雖然沒有酷炫的雙層儀表顯示，但仍有大面積金屬版件來點綴科技氛圍。中央也導入5吋液晶多功能觸碰螢幕，可提供影音支援如MP3、CD、藍牙、免持通話、倒車顯影的等功能。在頂級車型上則有免鑰匙啟動裝置、天窗以及多功能方向盤等變便捷配備。
懸吊系統方面，第四代City為前麥弗遜、後扭力梁的設計形式，不過新車型上增加了EPS電子輔助轉向系統，來提升車輛操縱的靈活度。安全配備上，原廠表示第四代City的車身剛性比起上代車型還增加了24％，而在印度市場上標配兩具雙前座氣囊與ABS、EBD，未來其它地區在高階車款上則會配置VSA車輛穩定性輔助系統。最後，全新第四代City將於2014年初於印度開賣，隨後也將轉往前往其它市場，至於臺灣方面既然新City已經發表，相信沒多久後就會有後繼消息傳出了。
