身為HONDA車廠發展歷史的一代超跑NSX，當時採用全鋁質車身結構、中置後驅設定和V6汽油引擎的技術規格下，不僅穩站自家性能地位，甚至可以說是日本汽車產業發展以來的重要里程碑之一，然而經過短暫的休息、潛沉之後，新世代的NSX在新一任社長伊東孝紳上任後，便漸漸的開始嶄露頭角。

就之前的報導指出，HONDA確定會將新世代的NSX搭載一具V6雙渦輪增壓引擎做為動力核心，並與搭配中置以及左右共三具電動馬達的輔助系統和旗下行之有年的SH-AWD（Super Handling All-Wheel-Drive）全時四輪驅動系統；不過談完動力系統，NSX的設計群對於外觀部分似乎有了不一樣的見解。
