BTCC史上第一次旅行車型奪冠，HONDA Civic Tourer廠車奪下首勝

在先前我們就曾為讀者們報導過，HONDA在BTCC（英國房車錦標賽）的廠隊HONDA YUASA Racing在今年的賽事當中將會以Civic Tourer廠車參賽，而這是繼1994年賽季VOLVO以850 Estate工廠賽車參賽之後，再度出現旅行車參賽的情景，而兩者之間已經相隔有20年之久。
值得一提的是，幾天前在Donington賽道所舉辦的第二站賽事當中，Gordon Shedden與Matt Neal兩位車手駕駛兩輛Civic Tourer廠車經過艱苦的拼鬥之後，最終以第一、第三的成績完賽。而這更讓Civic Tourer廠車成為在BTCC的賽事歷史當中，第一輛奪得分站冠軍的旅行車。
HONDA Civic Tourer廠車的動力系統在BTCC的規範之下，採用最大馬力輸出超過300hp的2.0L直四渦輪增壓汽油引擎，並且具備COSWORTH 所打造的ECU，搭配XTRAC六速序列式變速箱、AP碳纖維離合器與煞車系統以及DUNLOP的18吋光頭胎。
在外觀上，HONDA Civic Tourer工廠賽車從車頭看去或許與原先的掀背版本相去不遠，但來到車側就可以明顯的看出，為了因應拉長的車身，在後對的線條上Civic Tourer工廠賽車比較沒有像掀背版本那麼傾斜，但車尾依舊是架上了大型擾流尾翼來增加高速時的下壓力，整體就是比掀背車型大了一截。
