泰國軍事政變局勢動盪，HONDA減少4成產能、擱置擴建新廠等計畫

由於泰國動盪的政治局勢已經持續許久，再加上軍事力量介入，由泰國陸軍總司令巴育（Prayuth Chan-ocha）發動政變接管政府，讓泰國已經不甚穩定的政治局勢又添加了新的變數，姑且不論政局的發展走向究竟如何，但持續的政爭導致政治局勢充滿著不穩定性、發展政策也沒有延續性，因此首當其衝的就是泰國經濟的持續衰退以及海外投資產業的出走或暫緩投資。

HONDA大城府生產基地就是當年被洪災淹沒的場所。

身為東南亞最大的汽車生產國以及最大汽車市場，泰國從今年以來不斷的政局動盪，已經造成了部分的汽車製造商內被迫暫時撤離泰國或減少在泰國的投資，光是汽車產業的部分就已經有3萬人以上的臨時雇工被解雇，以降低產能的方式來因應當前渾沌不明的市場前景。而HONDA更明確指出已經因應市場需求的減緩而調降了位於大城府（Ayutthaya）工廠的4成產能，僅維持以60%的產能運轉同時認為今年在泰國的銷售量將可能會低於預期目標。
此外，HONDA泰國公司執行副總Pitak Pruittisarikorn表示，原本HONDAE經打算在2015年4月於泰國以5.3億美元的資金建造一座新的生產基地，但是有鑑於當前的混亂局勢，目前這一計畫至少會延後半年甚至一年以上，如果情況繼續惡化下去甚至有轉至其他鄰近國家的可能。
目前HONDA在大城府生產基地擁有30萬輛的年產能，而另一座位於巴真府、正在興建中的基地也有約12萬輛的年度生產規模，而產能降低意味著市場需求的減緩、縮減工人的工作時間以調整待售與庫存，預料2014年本田在泰國的銷量可能達不到12萬輛的預期目標。
根據泰國工業聯盟資料指出，2012年泰國政府在推出了首次的購車補貼政策後，當年的汽車市場規模大幅增加81%，2013年該補貼政策停止後，泰國的汽車市場仍有133萬輛、較2012年減少7.7%的規模，但是2014年4月泰國的汽車市場卻是快速下跌33.2%，顯見政局的動盪加速減緩了民眾的購車意願。
