66年創造無數喜悅，HONDA二輪全球累計生產3億台

1946年由本田宗一郎在日本濱松市成立的本田技術研究所，正是HONDA的根源所在，1949年以大量生產機車為基礎，並在1963年進入四輪領域，如今這家已經橫跨陸海空與機器人領域的世界級企業，同時經過長達66年的努力，二輪機車在全球累計突破3億台，相信這樣傲人的紀錄應該沒有對手能打破。
從1949年的Dream D開始，HONDA便啟動二輪機車的生產事業，這也是本田宗一郎第一款從無到有完全重新設計的車款，爾後1953年的Benly J、1954年的Juno K、1958年的Super Cub，到1960年的Dream CB72，則是奠定商用車、速克達、街車的基礎，而1962年的CR110 Cub Racing，更是HONDA第一款可在一般道路上奔馳的賽車。1969年CB750 Four的誕生，將HONDA推向世界頂端，日後更陸續推出Gold Wing GL1000、CB750F、CX500 Turbo、NS250R、VFR750R、NR750等膾炙人口的車款。
同時在日本當地生產外，本田宗一郎也在戰友藤澤武夫的建議下積極拓展海外市場，並於1963年首度在比利時設廠生產機車，如今在全球22國共有33個生產基地，這樣的成就絕對非其他機車品牌所能媲美。當然HONDA針對不同市場開發最適切的產品，以符合消費者和路況交通的需求。而在台灣雖然沒有正式掛著廠徽生產，卻也有光陽和三陽兩個長久合作夥伴，其所有技術也都是來自HONDA。
因此在達成全球累計生產3億台之際，第3億台機車載2014年9月於日本熊本廠正式下線，為一款40週年特別仕樣的Gold Wing。根據HONDA社長伊東孝紳表示：「在各方的幫助下順利達成3億台里程碑，今後也將針對各國市場推出讓顧客滿足的商品。」看到有這樣的成果，相信本田宗一郎在天之靈肯定會開懷大笑！
