    VTEC熱度不再?本田宗一郎仍是HONDA指標!

一直以來本田宗一郎可是HONDA的精神指標,縱使這位精力充沛的歐吉桑已經過世多年,卻依然是品牌最佳代言人,雖然光芒曾一度為VTEC所超越,但這幾年HONDA因策略轉彎,技術層面的成就似乎沒有太過突出,以致於魅力仍輸給本田宗一郎。

從進軍二輪GP、F1、四輪、稀薄燃燒到VTEC,這些令HONDA站上世界舞台的成就都出自本田宗一郎之手,這位脾氣暴躁卻專研技術的歐吉桑,一直以來就是HONDA的代表人物,縱使以傳賢不傳子打破日本企業文化,卻仍是HONDA的精神所在,即使有著不少傲視群倫的科技,又開發出機器人ASIMO、超級跑車NSX、首度飛上藍天的噴射機HONDA Jet,卻依舊無法蓋過本田宗一郎的光芒。

而一直以來VTEC從1980年代開始就稱得上HONDA動力結晶所在,藉由氣門變化不僅提升性能,也有效改善經濟效率和污染,就汽車科技的發展確實佔有一席之地,當然在全球車迷心目中就成為HONDA的代表作。然而這幾年HONDA因策略改變轉投大眾懷抱,VTEC雖然仍為動力核心,卻逐漸降低性能和樂趣風格,加上其他車廠都有類似的技術,使得VTEC的重要性大不如前,自然也就無法真正成為HONDA的代名詞。

當然2015年六月八鄉隆弘將擔任HONDA新社長,且在上一任社長伊東孝紳確認重啟樂趣、性能車款計畫下,將延續本田宗一郎所堅持的企業精神,看來歐吉桑對後世依舊有不小的影響力。
