擴大應用1.5L VTEC TURBO引擎，日本HONDA Jade RS登場

隨著渦輪增壓引擎在燃油、動力以及排汙上的各項優勢漸長，日本HONDA也在2015年初宣告TURBO引擎時代的到來，不僅全球知名的Civic將在最新第十代車款上，將提供VTEC TURBO渦輪增壓引擎的動力選項外，其實早在2015年4月底時，首款搭載HONDA新世代VTEC TURBO引擎的車款就已經問世（StepWGN）。而現在更是擴大應用到第二款Jade RS上。

很湊巧的，StepWGN以及Jade這兩款車型都是定位在家庭用車，且一款是中型MPV（StepWGN），另一款則是乘坐舒適的6人轎旅車（Jade），和運動、性能都沾不上邊，卻是第一、二輛採用1.5L VTEC TURBO的車款。而2015年5月21日所發表的Jade，則是自年初發表時所搭載的單一1.5L HYBRID動力車型，新增一款純汽油引擎的1.5L VTEC TURBO動力選項。

這一具未來HONDA廣泛使用的1.5L VTEC TURBO，引擎代號為L15B、排氣量1496c.c.並具備燃油直噴、可變氣門正時、引擎怠速停止等系統，搭載於Jade RS上則可提供150/5500rpm最大馬力，以及20.7kgm/1600-5000rpm峰值扭力輸出，結合CVT無段變速系統下則有著18.0km/L的平均油耗表現（日本JC08測試）。整體而言1.5L VTEC TURBO的表現已經和2.0L自然進氣引擎接近，且燃油效率表現也頗為出色，未來勢必能勝任HONDA主力引擎的位置。

至於Jade RS，其銷售定位完全不同Jade HYBRID。在車輛外觀上不僅有著自身專屬套件（RS水箱護罩、霧燈飾板、黑色鍍鉻把手、17吋輪框）等，內裝也進行小幅度調整（皮革方向盤、紅色縫線、運動踏板、換檔撥片），且底盤也經過原廠的調校使其更有運動性，以提升車輛操控表現。最後，日本Jade RS僅提供單一車型，售價為253萬日幣起（約新台幣65萬元）。
