    別想後來居上或超越!HONDA Civic Type-R工程師早有鞏固最速地位的策略

德國紐柏林(Nurburgring)賽道的單圈成績,似乎已經成了現在性能車、超跑的評價指標。而在全球最速前驅車HONDA Civic Type-R尚未登場之前,穩坐此榮耀的一直是法國RENAULT Megane R.S. 275 Trophy,但卻因為2014年6月SEAT Leon Cupra 280的出乎意料表現,讓RENAULT再推出Megane R.S. 275 Trophy-R奪回寶座,但不到一年又退讓給HONDA Civic Type-R,看來往後紐柏林賽道還會有更多最速前驅爭奪戰上演。

既然這些車廠都有傲人的前驅車調校功力,那HONDA Civic Type-R會不會上演RENAULT Megane R.S. Trophy的相同戲碼,被一輛突如其來的性能前驅車打破紀錄。對此,Civic Type-R總工程師Hisayuki Yagi面對Top Gear訪問時表示,如果有廠商需要我們展示更快的速度,那我們就會將Civic Type-R送回去。言下之意Civic Type-R還會有更強版本?

Hisayuki Yagi提到Civic Type-R其實還有上調的能耐,除了基本的重量馬力比、輕量化工程、底盤調校外,車上這一具2.0L VTEC Turbo渦輪增壓引擎,至少還能再提升20hp的馬力表現。而因為在紐柏林賽道測時的時候,安全考量下於車內加上防滾籠,並拆卸一些部件來達到重量平衡,但其實Civic Type-R還是有50kg的輕量化可行性。

增強引擎出力、車體輕量化,乍聽之下好像能讓Civic Type-R向上進階推出更極端的版本。不過HONDA只打算把這些,擺放在鞏固紐柏林賽道最速前驅車的頭銜上。而現在Civic Type-R所創造的7分50秒63,已經遠超RENAULT Megane R.S. 275 Trophy-R的7分54秒36,以及Leon Cupra 280的7分58秒4成績,相信這最速前驅寶座Civic Type-R是還能停留好一陣子。
