2015 HONDA先進科技之旅（11）：向50年前老前輩致敬，E500蓄電池2017年開賣

以發動機起家並成功跨足機車、汽車、能源、機器人、航空等事業領域的日本HONDA，在2015年東京車展時也發表最新世代的蓄電池E500，頗有復古風格的外觀似乎有意向老前輩E300致敬的意味。
於1965年在日本推出的E300蓄電池，是出遊、緊急、救災的好夥伴，也是HONDA頭一次在發動機技術以外的產品，當然在開發這項商品時是1963年所提出的構想，結果問世後受到消費者歡迎，並陸續開發出小型可攜帶式的蓄電池。而在2015年東京車展發表的最新世代E500，造型延續E300的小巧可愛，但功能性可是強大許多。
全名為E500 Battery Inverter Power Source的蓄電池預計在2017年開始銷售，除了標準的紅色和黑、綠、黃、銀、藍等單色外殼，亦有活潑的花紋與木紋的選擇，為了滿足現代人的生活習慣，除了主要的電源插座外，也增加兩個交流100伏特（5安培）、USB（2安培）端子，因此在緊急狀況或者出遊時可供應智慧手機、數位相機、電腦的電源，另外亦可供應500w家電使用，所以有了E500就不怕沒電可用。
對露營風盛行的台灣來說，E500應該相當適合，尤其小巧可隨身提著走的便利性，當然若碰到颱風或者地震時應該會是不錯的電力供應站。
