2016底特律車展報導：徹底革新！新HONDA Civic奪下North American Car of the Year

隨著2016年美國底特律車展開幕（North American International Auto Show），預告長達半年之久的North American Car of the Year（北美年度風雲車）也終於公佈最終結果。而2016 Car of the Year乘用車類別的競爭相當激烈，入圍車款涵蓋話題性跑車、旗艦房車甚至新節能技術車款，但最終獲得North American Car of the Year殊榮的，為第十代HONDA Civic！
早在2015年9月預先公佈的入圍名單中，「Car of the Year」類別的BMW 7-Series、CADILLAC CT6兩大豪華房車獲選後就造成熱烈討論，更別說CHEVROLET Camaro、MAZDA MX-5 Miata跑車的較勁，以及CHEVROLET Volt、TOYOYA Prius新節能科技的躍進，加上CHEVROLET Malibu、KIA Optima 、HONDA Civic、NISSAN Maxima等話題車款，皆讓2016 North American Car of the Year相當有看頭。
隨後2015年12月初，決選名單只留下CHEVROLET Malibu、HONDA Civic、MAZDA MX-5 Miata，雖然這三輛車在科技以及創新方面皆勢均力敵，不過最終票選冠軍的只有HONDA Civic。因為評審團一致認為，第十代HONDA Civic不僅擁有更前衛的外觀造型、更長且舒適的車體，動力方面亦導入先進的1.5L VTEC Turbo渦輪增壓引擎，從裏到外的徹底革新讓HONDA Civic實至名歸獲得North American Car of the Year殊榮。
除了Car of the Year以外，隨著休旅風潮興起Truck/Utility of the Year的競爭也相當精彩。從最先的入圍名單FORD Edge、HONDA HR-V、HONDA Pilot、HYUNDAI Tucson、JEEP Renegade、KIA Sorento、LEXUS RX、MAZDA CX-3、NISSAN Titan XD、TESLA Model X、TOYOTA Tacoma、VOLVO XC90，到剩下決選的HONDA Pilot、NISSAN Titan XD以及VOLVO XC90，最終拿下年度冠軍殊榮的為VOLVO XC90。
特別的是，13年前2003 Truck/Utility of the Year亦是由第一代VOLVO XC90所奪下，相隔12年後的大改款精進，讓全新第二代VOLVO XC90有著更完備的實力戰勝所有競爭者。而新XC90融合創新的技術以及車體架構，創造一流的乘坐舒適度以及出色的動態反應，獲得眾多評審的一致肯定，使新XC90得到2016 Truck/Utility of the Year最佳肯定。
