初期以加州為主！HONDA Clarity美國報價/租賃方案出爐

隨著車壇潔淨能源多元發展，除了油電複合動力外，也衍生出插電式複合動力、純電動車等形式，然而更多車廠將重心轉移至氫燃料電池，包含HYUNDAI Tucson FCV、TOYOTA Mirai都已經嶄露頭角，但事實上HONDA在這領域早有著墨，算是大器晚成，因此不得不加緊佈局的腳步。
事實上HONDA早在1999年即推出最早的氫燃料電池動力車FCX，透過2002年的FCX小型三門掀背車完成氫燃料電池動力量產化的成就，隨後2007年第二代氫燃料電池量產車款FCX Clarity正式在洛杉磯車展上展出，採取空力考量流線身型的設計成為節能車款的最佳典範。2015東京車展所發表的新世代氫燃料電池車則捨棄過去一直沿用的FCX名稱，改以HONDA Clarity強調潔淨、無汙染的設計理念，更進一步奠定HONDA在氫燃料電池車款的領先地位。
其實，受限於HONDA近年重新發展性能車領域，因而拉緩了FCV氫燃料電池車的發展腳步，另一方面則是因為氫燃料電池技術仍未達原廠預期，也讓量產版Clarity直到2015東京車展才現身，隨即在2015年底洛杉磯車展宣布進軍美國。
為了佈局節能政策相對完善的美國市場，HONDA近日在2016華盛頓車展中正式宣布了Clarity北美售價約為60,000美元（約因台幣200萬），並提供約500美元（約新台幣1.6萬）的月租賃方案，不過因應目前產能有限，再加上加氫站網絡尚未健全，因此初期選定經過認證的加州（洛杉磯、奧勒岡、舊金山、沙加緬度）經銷商為主，預計2016年底陸續交付給各經銷據點。
HONDA Clarity動力源自馬力輸出達174hp(130kW)的電動馬達，並由70MPa高壓貯藏的氫氣轉換供給電力，具備超過300英哩（約482km）的最大續航里程，在3-5分鐘內即可完成氫氣補充。
