HONDA備受矚目的戰略車全新十代Civic，在2015年9月於美國率先發表四門房車後，雙門Civic Coupe也在同年底洛杉磯車展登場，以嶄新動感的外型及全新渦輪動力入替，車系進入截然不同的世代，立刻在全球獲得不錯成績，當然，要在北美販售還必須通過IIJS的考驗！

IIHS全名為Insurance Institute for Highway Safety，是美國高速公路安全保險協會，專門替消費者把關車輛安全的權威單位，而就在先前四門版Civic拿到最高安全評價的Top Safety Pick+之後，本次則輪到雙門Civic Coupe來挑戰，結果如何呢？其實不難想像。

根據IIHS的撞擊測試規範，受測車輛必須經果以下受測關卡，包含前方碰撞（Moderate overlap front）、側撞（Side）、車頂強度（Roof strength）、頭枕與座椅（Head restraints & seats）等獲得「Good」的評分，同時必須在前方小面積偏位撞擊（Small overlap front）獲得「Acceptable」以上才能獲得Top Safety Pick；若要挑戰更高階的Top Safety Pick+則必須配備前方碰撞預警系統（front crash prevention）。

比照四門版Civic獲得優異成績，Civic Coupe同樣高標通過，所有撞擊項目均拿下理所當然拿到「Good」，難能可貴的是雙門車型通常需要在強健的車體結構，顯見全新Civic無論是雙門或四們在設計之初都是撞擊安全為目的，同時因為美規版本有提供前方碰撞預警系統選配，因此獲得最高安全評價的Top Safety Pick+。
