氣囊事件續爆，HONDA內部審計指控高田串改測試數據

自從高田氣囊因生產瑕疵造成10名乘客死亡後，各車廠紛紛緊急召回售出車型，也因此額外負擔了不少成本，而召回的數量之大，不停地有車廠怒而宣布未來將抵制高田安全氣囊。日本大廠之一的HONDA也身受其害，而日前HONDA的內部審計更爆料出高田在提供給HONDA和其他數個車廠的安全氣囊測試報告中，串改、美化數據內容。

一位HONDA審計調查人員Brian O’Neill表示，高田工程師在提供給HONDA的測試報告上，將成績較差的測試項目予以刪除，藉此隱瞞其潛在的安全性問題。「我們找到數筆被『選擇性調整』過後的資料，可作為高田串改數據的證據。他們為了讓測試結果更加美觀，而對本應客觀的數據做調整，有利於呈現他們的產品測試結果。」

其實稍早之前便有傳出高田蓄意操作安全氣囊測試數據，然而消息始終無法被證實，直至現在HONDA表示握有實質證據，大大提高了上述說法的可能性。而在法院開庭審理時，高田工程師更坦承並作證：除了HONDA，在提供給TOYOTA、NISSAN和GM的數據中，也進行過類似的串改行為。

雖然審計調查還在初步階段，離調查完成還需要不少時間，但目前看來，調查結果可能會讓HONDA必須召回更多的車型。由於10起因高田氣囊造成死亡的案例中，有9起發生在HONDA車款上，另外也有超過100人由於HONDA車款上的瑕疵氣囊而受傷。目前HONDA光在美國就召回了850萬輛受影響的車款，並更換了1220萬個安全氣囊。至於生產氣囊的高田公司，近期也面臨被收購的命運。
