HONDA CR-V 做為美國最暢銷 SUV 車款，全車安全性表現也就成為消費者相當關注的指標項目，其新一代車型在配置 Sensing 安全輔助系統和 LED 頭燈後，近期更獲得美國公路安全保險協會（IIHS）撞擊測試最高評價 TOP SAFETY PICK +。而配備 HONDA Sensing 安全輔助系統能確實偵測前方路況，避免或減緩碰撞意外，讓 CR-V 在正面碰撞項目奪得優異成績。

在本次 IIHS 碰撞測試中，HONDA CR-V 一共在五個項目皆獲得「良好」的評價，其中包括相當嚴格的前方小面積偏位撞擊，同時頭燈照明表現則獲得中上成績。然而要獲得 TOP SAFETY PICK + 最高評價的肯定並不容易，車輛必須通過小面積偏位、中面積偏位、車側碰撞、車頂強度測試以及座艙頭枕防護能力皆達一致優異的評級，，同時前方碰撞預警系統也列入最高評級的必要配備，同時頭燈表現也必須符合一定水準。

HONDA 美國市場 2017 新年式車型，目前共有四款獲得 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK + 最高評級的肯定，包括 CR-V、Ridgeline、Accord 和 Pilot 等車款，涵蓋都會、中大型房車、SUV 與皮卡貨車各項級距；此外 Accord Coupe、Civic Coupe 轎跑版本和 Civic 房車版本共三款產品獲得了 TOP SAFETY PICK 評價，代表品牌整體陣容在安全性表現上相當一致。

為了提供更安全的駕馭體驗，原廠目前主打的 HONDA Sensing 安全輔助系統將成為重點配備項目，整合前方碰撞預警、車道偏離警示、車道維持輔助、主動式定速巡航和主動式煞車輔助系統；至於全美 2017 式車款皆標配備了多角度車尾攝影機、ACE 車體結構、車輛穩定輔助系統、防煞車鎖死系統和齊全的安全氣囊防護，都是產品能平均獲得撞擊測試高評價的主要優勢。
