    HONDA將斥資1.24億美元於俄亥俄州打造其專屬的風洞實驗室

據外媒報導,最近HONDA宣布將斥資1.24億美元(約為新台幣37.6億元)於其位於美國俄亥俄州的運輸研究中心(Transportation Research Center)打造一座風洞實驗室,且最快將於今年七月正式完工開始運作。亦即日後HONDA在開發車型需要做風洞測試時,研發效率將會加快許多。

HONDA美國研發中心總經理Frank Paluch表示:「這座全新的實驗室將可以增強我們開發產品時的效率,並能提供更高品質的產品給我們的消費者。且這正是產品研究發展階段時所牽涉到空氣動力學以及空氣聲學不可或缺的一部分。而從產品一開始的電腦模擬、小比例模型、全尺寸開發,一直到量產版本的空氣動力性能的確保等步驟都將在這座實驗室完成。」另外這座實驗室在設備上也能同時符合量產車以及賽車上的測試需求(不同的固定車體方式),而HONDA的工程研發人員則可於四間獨立隔間房內做分析產品的工作。此設施完成後預計將可增強未來HONDA開發具燃油效率的節能車款以及具性能樂趣車款的能力。

據稱這座全新的風洞實驗室最高風速可達309km/h(192 mph)。並預計坐落於HONDA的運輸研究中心內,是HONDA負責分析車輛的煞車性能、耐撞程度、耐久性、油耗表現、排放、操控表現以及性能測試的單位。
