基於全球局勢考量，HONDA於2022年關閉歐洲唯一工廠

英國汽車市場動盪不安，絕大多數原因都指向英國脫歐爭議，先前英國本土品牌去年傳出退出英國市場，最近日系車廠HONDA也將於2022年關閉位於英國席南部Swindon的製造工廠，這樣的決定工廠3500名員工也會面臨裁員問題，而針對這項問題，HONDA會在當地2月19日正式說明。
根據可靠消息指出，車廠雖然要關閉英國Swindon工廠，不過仍會保留英國布拉克內耳的歐洲總部以及英國一級方程式賽車隊。1985年成立的Swindon工廠生產總投資額達到新台幣592億元，不只是生產超過10萬輛Civic，也是車廠在歐洲唯一的生產工廠，此外HONDA一旦退出英國也會影響英國汽車產業，去年產量超過16萬輛車，佔英國產量152萬中超過10%。
此次的問題與英國脫歐時間相當接近，不免讓許多人認為車廠的舉動與英國脫歐有很大的關係，帶是英國國會議員Justin Tomlinson在Twitter上發文，表示個人與HONDA談論過此事，但車廠的決定並非因為英國脫歐的關係，而是基於全球局勢考量，未來將會加強在日本生產。
先前NISSAN、FORD和JAGUAR LAND ROVER等汽車品牌都對英國脫歐表達不滿，也都表示不排除退出英國的可能性，Swindon工廠先前生產歐規Accord、Fit、CR-V以及Civic等車款，關閉工廠後，HONDA會將這些車款轉移至英國以外的國家生產。
