    誰說歐洲車「柴」省油?HONDA以柴油版Civic Tourer挑戰柴油最低油耗世界紀錄

由於市場屬性使然,如HONDA等日本車廠在小排氣量渦輪增壓柴油動力的著墨,無疑地腳步較歐洲品牌慢,但HONDA原廠正準備進行一項計畫,希望能打破金氏世界紀錄柴油最低油耗,以突破這種既定印象,證明HONDA也擁有一流的柴油引擎技術。

位於英國的歐洲HONDA公司RD部門的員工,Fergal McGrath與Julian Warren,將在6月1日從比利時的阿爾斯特(Aalst)出發,駕駛一輛搭載1.6L i-DTEC柴油引擎的Civic Tourer旅行車,依序駛往荷蘭、德國…,以順時針的路徑行經歐盟28國中的24個國家,僅有汽車無法抵達的英國、愛爾蘭、馬爾他及賽普勒斯被排除在外。

依照計畫,大約在6月25日時,會完成這項總里程達8500miles(約13,679km)的歐洲大陸駕車計畫,由於目標是打破金氏世界紀錄的最低油耗,因此過程必須在符合規範下進行。在旅途過程中,兩位自願參加的挑戰者必須都在車上並輪流駕駛,計畫每天開車7.5小時,單日平均完成592km里程。

為了保持破紀錄的公平性,車輛規格將和市售車型完全相同,且在出發前和完成後,都將由獨立公證人來進行檢查判定。唯一與市售車不同的,就是挑戰車輛加裝了TRACKER公司的追蹤裝置,可即時追蹤車輛位置,車迷們也能在挑戰開始後上網關心相關動態及計畫進度。

過程中所有步驟也將以嚴格嚴謹的標準來執行,例如在行經每個國家時,都會將每日的里程、油耗數據、GPS路徑、影片及照片等資料妥善記錄保存下來,並經過獨立公證人見證簽章,甚至為了避免以「減輕重量」等小手段來提升油耗,每次進加油站加油時都必須將油箱加到最滿,證明挑戰過程的公正性。目前尚未確定HONDA原廠希望打破的世界紀錄名目,但可預期的,將和「行經歐盟24國的柴油最低油耗」有關。
