原為ACURA品牌的MDX在尚未回銷日本之前，HONDA於日本的LSUV市場上並沒有可以與對手相抗衡的車款，2003年時HONDA決定將北美銷售的MDX回銷日本，以彌補劣勢，在經過近兩年後，HONDA日前於日本推出了全新年份的小改款車型，增加一系列新車色與新配備，延續競爭力。
新推出的MDX外觀並未有所改變，僅新增銀灰色與金屬淡藍色兩種新塗裝顏色，並取消金屬亮銀車色；此外，除了車色上的改變，MDX也增加了原廠防盜器、雨滴感應室雨刷、自動啟畢式頭燈，以及車燈水平調整等配備，加上原有的前後獨立空調，吸頂式液晶螢幕等，與日本獨家的聲控的多功能影音整合系統等等配備，更彰顯初MDX身為日系旗鑑LSUV的身分。
全新MDX的報價入門款為483萬日圓，而頂級車型525萬日圓，由於此等身價於日本國產車中已屬高檔，因此原廠目標月銷量僅為50輛。
