    耽心NISSAN可能居於劣勢,據傳日本政府正推動HONDA與NISSAN合併

根據英國《金融時報》的報導,日本政府正試圖推動日產NISSAN和本田汽車HONDA合併的談判,因為日本官方擔心日產雷諾三菱聯盟(NISSAN-RENAULT-MITSUBISHI)可能面臨崩潰,而讓NISSAN日產汽車暴露在風暴之中。該報指稱去年年底,日本高層官員就已試圖促成有關合併的討論和談判,因為他們擔心日產和雷諾的關係惡化。

根據報導,日本首相安倍晉三的顧問擔心日產和雷諾的關係「嚴重惡化」,可能完全破裂,使日產汽車處於弱勢地位,因而提出建議,讓日產與本田合作,以加強兩個品牌競爭力。然而合併談判幾乎立刻就失敗了,因為日產和本田都拒絕了這個想法,因為新冠疫情大流行,迫使兩家公司將注意力集中在疫情防治上。而日產與本田車以及日本首相辦公室,都拒絕對這份報導發出評論。

雖然談判最終失敗的原因尚未得到證實,但很有可能是因為本田汽車獨特的工程設計,使它難以與日產共用零部件和平臺,這也意味著日產與本田的合併,將無法符合目前市場最重要的規模經濟。

合併的另一大障礙便是這兩個品牌的商業模式也大相徑庭,日產汽車的核心業務專注於汽車,而本田則是比較多樣性,其業務同時也涵蓋機車、電動工具和園藝設備等市場,而且本田在這些領域的市場整體業務中,扮演著重要角色。

然而近年來,愈來愈多的汽車製造廠聯合起來,試圖在日益惡化的全球市場中,鞏固自己的地位。去年,法國PSA集團就和FCA飛雅特克萊斯勒公司確認雙方的合併,將創造出全球第四大汽車製造商,也就是Stellantis。而最近福特和福斯終於敲定了一個廣泛性的全球聯盟,涉及兩家公司在電動車、皮卡、廂型車和自動駕駛技術開發合作。
