在當今的中國汽車市場，中型掀背車似乎已經形成一股風氣，除了較早國產化的一汽大眾高爾夫之外，後來包括上海通用別克凱越HRV，還有北京現代汽車也在本屆北京車展上發表即將量產的伊蘭特Elantra Sports，更別說一狗票自有品牌推出自行設計的相關產品！
不久之前，我們曾經獨家披露有關於東風本田即將投產八代思域Civic掀背款的消息，結果日前東風本田又改變主意了…..他們暫時不投產這款新車！
為什麼？
因為成本太貴，估計一輛由東風本田投產的Civic掀背車款，可能還要比三廂房車版貴上一萬人民幣左右，而且東風本田也覺得過於前衛的造型或許無法吸引大部分的潛在買家，儘管在歐洲這款歐規掀背車，自從上市以來累積已經在當地銷售接近50萬輛，而且目前僅有歐規版本推出，成本的問題加上歐元匯差，也是東風本田決定暫時不投產的主要因素，
此外，目前東風本田思域三廂款上市以來，在中國總銷售數量還不到三萬輛，對於東風本田來說還不甚滿意，當然也對於後續衍生車款的計畫會有所保留，不過東風本田也沒有說一定不會量產掀背車款，若將來確定投產，為了凸顯產品定位以名顯區隔與房車款的差異，或許連車名都會整個換掉，而且思域房車款在中國當地的新車成交價，也逐步出現大幅殺價的情況，而且東風本田還將今年的全年總消量目標，由原本的8萬輛調降為6.5萬輛。
