根據最新消息顯示，在本屆2007年廣州國際車展上，東風本田與本田中國共同宣布由日本整車進口的HONDA Civic Hybrid油電混合動力新車正式發售，建議售價為26.98萬人民幣，相較於由一汽豐田國產化的TOYOTA Prius油電混合動力新車的售價來說，相當具有濃厚的挑釁意味。

在日前本屆2007年廣州國際車展的媒體日，東風本田總經理尾崎滿親自宣布日本進口的2008年式HONDA Civic Hybrid油電混合動力版本新車，即日起將在東風本田於中國大陸旗下的64家經銷商正式發售，動力系統除搭載一具排氣量為1.3升的三階段iVTEC可變氣門引擎外，更具備HONDA自家設計的油電混合動力管理分配系統，讓讓整車平均油耗比起Civic中國版1.85升汽油車款低上約五成五左右。
