隨著NISSAN、MITSUBISHI、SUBARU陸續投入電動車領域，TOYOTA又積極建立Hybrid王國，以技術取勝的HONDA自然不能落後，除了成功地將複合動力Insight推到市場上，現在更決定在2010年上半年於美國推出電動車，來搭上美國歐巴馬總統所提出的環保列車。
MITSUBISHI iMiEV、SUBARU Stella Plug-in、NISSAN Leaf可是目前確定大量生產的電動車，若加上TOYOTA即將在今年底推出Plug-in的Prius，從2010年起全球車壇將因為電池技術的進步掀起一股新風潮，當然向來以技術走在前端的HONDA也不落人後，因為HONDA的規劃中，Hybrid算是節能減碳的前菜，電動車與燃料電池才是終極目標。
既然已經有FCX與Insight的燃料電池及Hybrid技術，HONDA要發展電動車可謂輕而易舉，且又有三洋電機和GS湯淺兩大電池廠商作為強力後盾，電動車的誕生指日可待。只是這款電動車何時會出現？據說最快在今年東京車展就會展示Prototype。
