HONDA Civic Type R四門版走入歷史，三門版持續限量販售

堪稱HONDA性能表徵的Type R，隨著整體產品策略調整，只剩下Civic獨撐大局，其中日規版四門Type R與歐規三門Type R Euro卻有不同命運，前者雖然強調日常生活與樂趣共存，但仍比不上個性掛帥的後者，因此原廠決定Civic Type R四門版將在2010年8月停止販售，也就是說以後的Type R僅有歐規三門一種選擇。
為了進行整合，HONDA取消Integra與Prelude兩大車系，同時整併至Civic車系中，且強調性能的Type R日規版是以四門版呈現，三門版則屬於歐規所專屬，然而受到全球景氣和用車習慣改變，既是手排又是著重樂趣的Civic Type R四門版在日本似乎無法引起消費者共鳴，因此在鈴鹿廠所生產的Civic Type R將在今年8月停止販售，意味在此之前確定停產，而其空缺將由英國生產的Civic Type R Euro所取代。
也就是說未來Civic Type R將只剩下歐規三門，看來在日本HONDA的R精神已經蕩然無存。
