新款賽車同步開發，HONDA宣佈將以全新Civic參與英國BTCC房車賽事

隨著2011年法蘭克福車展開幕的腳步逐漸逼近，AutoNet汽車日報進來也為讀者介紹過HONDA也跟隨最近流行的方式，以偽裝車測試照來幫即將登場的歐規九代Civic掀背車款炒熱度，如今在市售量產車款都還沒亮相的時候，原廠就搶著宣布將以此車參與2012年賽季的英國BTCC房車賽事。
而根據HONDA原廠表示，新款Civic BTCC賽車，將完全依據Next Generation Touring Car(簡稱NGTC)賽車規範所打造，搭載可輸出300hp最大馬力的2.0L渦輪增壓汽油引擎、COSWORTH ECU，搭配XTRAC六速序列式變速箱、AP碳纖維離合器與制動系統、18吋光頭胎，車長至少4400mm、車寬上限1875mm等規範，主要考量在於降低車隊成本，並提升動力系統耐久度與賽車安全性。
同時HONDA原廠也指出，在原廠歐洲專屬的工程師的仔細測試調校下，歐規九代Civic將與有更優秀的行路舒適性，同時原廠方面也利用先前的F1賽事經驗以及風洞設備進行車身設計，以求能夠達到更低的車身風阻係數，繞車輛能夠擁有漂亮的油耗數據，同時提升車輛高速行駛的穩定性。
