    捨棄SOHC全面改DOHC,HONDA著手開發新世代直列四缸心臟!

飽受天災之苦的HONDA,近年來除了Civic、CR-V大改款,以及CR-Z、Fit Hybrid、輕型車N-BOX外,似乎沒有什麼令人振奮的新作,其實HONDA正以鴨子划水狀態全力開發嶄新的動力心臟,也就是未來的主力直列四缸汽油引擎將從SOHC換成DOHC,並和VTEC連續可變汽門正時控制與直噴組合,期望能創造同級最佳的油耗表現。

向來以技術取勝的HONDA,是以機車引擎起家,踏入汽車領域發展至今也超過半個世紀,當各大競爭對手不斷開發出新動力技術,HONDA似乎只在VTEC可變汽門與Hybrid上打轉,甚至旗下仍有不少車款搭載的引擎為SOHC單凸而非DOHC雙凸設計,因為在HONDA的規劃下除了性能車外,排氣量在2.0L以下仍採用SOHC設定,然而2011年底在日本發表的輕型車N-BOX,雖然為660cc的直列三缸引擎,卻採用DOHC和VTEC的雙重組合,為了不在技術上落後對手,並遵循創辦人本田宗一郎的夢想,遂決定開發新世代直列四缸引擎,同時捨棄SOHC全面改採DOHC。

當然要改成DOHC還有一大主因,那就是HONDA下一代引擎將同時具備VTEC和直噴兩種技術,僅有一隻凸輪的SOHC因進排氣問題無法對應,因此若改用DOHC設計難題自然迎刃而解。根據AutoNet汽車日報取得的獨家情報顯示,HONDA預計在2014年全面更換新開發的DOHC直列四缸引擎,排氣量分別為660cc、1.3L、1.5L、1.8L、2.0L,雖說1.5L以下引擎採用DOHC設計後將提高成本,但為了讓旗下車款能在各級距對手中達成節能冠軍,怎樣HONDA都要咬牙做下去。

至於HONDA有無意思要對目前的3.5L SOHC V6汽油引擎作修改?基本上還沒有任何打算,畢竟這樣大排氣量引擎在HONDA整體陣線中並非主力也非大宗。而全新世代的直列四缸DOHC引擎何時會誕生?預計從2014年起將陸續搭載於日規車款上,爾後再擴大到其他市場。
