確認對手，HONDA的小型都會CUV將迎戰NISSAN的Juke

從2013年第二季起日本HONDA旗下的都會車款Fit將會進行大改款作業，其中從此底盤平台發展出來的車型不僅會有原本的五門還有四門房車版本，甚至會以此底盤平台再延伸出一款新的小型都會CUV定位在CR-V之下，來迎合目前的市場需求。而HONDA的同級目標則是鎖定在NISSAN近日銷量出色的Juke。
這輛預計在2013年第三季問市的小型CUV，車身大小約會落在4250×1725×1640mm軸距2500mm左右，提供標準的五人雙排乘坐空間。動力方面則是會搭載全新研發的1.5L直列式四缸汽油引擎，在燃油直噴系統導入後可提供120hp最大馬力以及15.0kgm的扭力輸出表現，並有5速自排、CVT無段變速、5速手排三種以及前驅和四驅的不同車型可選擇。
對於新一代Fit的改款作業與延伸車型的推出，HONDA認為這將是未來5到10年相當重要的全球戰略。原廠預計在2012年全車系的銷量在全球可達到400萬輛之多，而到2017年則是期望到700萬輛的目標。因此，不僅要持續經營東南亞以及印度以外的新興市場，在歐洲地區也會再推出售價更低的車型。
至於在美國以及日本地區相當受歡迎的後驅平價跑車TOYOTA 86，HONDA並沒有想要追隨開發同級對手的意願。反而是將主力放在2015年前現身的Civic Type R，最新消息指出動力會改搭載代號2.0L直列式四缸渦輪增壓引擎，最大馬力也會達到300hp的表現並搭配6速手排變速系統，用來締造最佳的操控前驅車的殊榮。
