HONDA 新世代高性能計畫起始，S2000後繼車款計畫先行

近年日系車廠掀起一震性能車款熱潮，紛紛透過新世代技術復甦過去的高性能車款，除了TOYOTA不斷推出雙門小跑車搶攻市場之外，同時跨足汽、機車兩個產業的HONDA也相當積極，終於在今年透過掛上ACURA廠徽的方式，發表新世代當家超跑NSX，除了NSX之外品牌也打算發表另一款定位僅次於NSX的新世代跑車，但不可忘記的是HONDA更有S2000後繼車款的計畫。
雖然現今高性能車款清一色是由歐系車款掛帥，近十年來日系車廠僅有NISSAN 有GT-R擁有與其相互競爭的性能，但除了NISSAN之外，同屬日系車廠的HONDA近年也有意復甦過去在性能領域的成就。HONDA所規劃的高性能車款計畫，除了復甦品牌的光輝NSX之外，更打算在NSX的定位下新增一款全新跑車，同時進行的還有S2000後繼車款的計畫在進行。
現在有消息指出，S2000後繼車款的計畫，將會搶先在定位僅次於NSX跑車前問世，屆時該車將會使用新世代動力技術打造，預計會使用1.5L直列四缸渦輪引擎作為動力來源，提供大約180hp的最大馬力，除了一般車型之外也有機會使用現行Civic Type R所使用的2.0L渦輪引擎作為動力來源，將Type R陣線擴大。
不過，S2000後繼車款的計畫還必須等上一段時間，因為目前HONDA旗下並沒有任何合宜的後驅底盤，因此S2000後繼車款必須重新開發全新底盤，雖然必須等待一段很長的時間，但全新開發的底盤勢必也會使用最新技術設計打造，確保車輛的性能表現。
